In a green and nice area, near the canal which goes from the Marne river to the Saône river, Jean-Charles Monget breeds goats and produces goat’s cheese since more than 20 years. The “Clos Thomas” farm has been built in 1995. Jean Charles Monget has 98 hectares, 150 goats and each year, the goats give birth to 350 kids.

Jean-Charles Monget works by using an integrated production system in order to increase economical results while protecting the environnement. Then, JC Monget uses few chemical products.

Jean-Charles Monget breeds 150 goats, which belong to two races: the Alpines (Savoie) and the Saanen (Switzerland).

The goat’s feeding depends of the season. During the summer, the goats graze on the meadow. During the winter, they eat hay and granules (maize, rape seeds and sunflower seeds).

The goats are milked twice a day, at 6 am and 5 pm. Each goat produces 2 liters of milk per day. Jean-Charles Monget organises the births in order to have milk all along the year.
